Interactive Flash Animations
eScreen eBrochures
Problem:
eScreen’s eCup/eReader solution was the first of its kind, and its technology was hard to explain verbally. Sales reps spent an inordinate amount of time explaining how eScreen tech worked before even getting to the pitch. It was a big obstacle in the sales process.
eScreen desperately needed a compelling way to visually demonstrate this new advancement in a bite-size, coherent manner.

Solution:
In short, this need was why eScreen hired me. I developed a Flash eBrochure to prime customer interest and boost sales success.
It worked so well, that we added over 70 eBrochures over the next few years, building an online video marketing presence that cut the initial sales process in half—helping sales focus on building relationships rather than explaining technical details.
These eBrochures had both narrow and broad focus, depending on the need, and they were heavily utilized in both sales and on eScreen.com. In fact, the eBrochures have become so invaluable in the selling process that they’ve stuck around as is through two acquisitions.

Execution:
As I was still relatively new to eScreen, my highly knowledgeable marketing director wrote all of the script drafts. Then the two of us honed the messages to read and show well in storyboards.
I captured and produced the voice-overs myself, using one of our own employees with a gifted voice. The rest was Flash animation, which at the time was still big.
After Steve Jobs penned his famous ‘Thoughts on Flash’ letter, browser support started flagging, and we had to eliminate the interactive features. However, we were able to seamlessly transition to an all-video approach.
